I talked to a former team mate of his the other night at a black tie dinner. Found out how he got his nickname, or this guys version.


First it was 747, then it became Crow.

Back in the day he was called up and sent down so many times he got the nickname 747 for so many plane flights. Then once he was asked where Fredericton was and he answered "2000 miles as the crow flies.

Then Crow stuck and the joke around Vancouver was that you if you wanted to know how the club was doing the answer was "as the Crow flies". If he was flying to Vancouver they were doing bad, if he was flying back to the farm they were doing better.

Don't know how true it is but it was a funny story, nonetheless.
