About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Imagine this....... A three way deal.
Kings trade Cammy to Team "A"
Team "A" gives us their first.
Team "A" trades a player or
Probably but what do the Kings need two more first round picks for?
The Kings need roster players. Cammalleri's a good player. We should either keep him or trade him for another long term piece of the puzzle.
I guess I'm just hoping for 3 to 4 first rounders this year. Look at Kane and Towes. Crosby and Malkin. It doesn't take long for these players to take you where you want to go. If we have 3 or 4 in this deep draft. Damn.
The Kings could end up with 1 or 2 more first round picks with the trades they are able to make at or before the deadline.DL will also try to get top prospects to build up the reserve list for Manchester and Reading and/or a front line player or 2 as 236nOT had mentioned.
Team "B' gives us their first. (As part of the conditions to trade Cammy to Team "A")
I hope you catch my drift. Your thoughts.
In a word: absurd.
Would you want LA to give a 1st round pick to a team in which they have absolutely nothing to do with the transaction? Let's make a serious hypothetical here:
St. Louis trades a first to Carolina for Tim Gleason. Then, St. Louis trades to us Erik Johnson for, say, Brown and Hickey. Would you want LA to then pass a first over to Carolina as a matter of thanks for pawning Gleason off to St. Louis so LA could then grab Johnson?
If you want more first round picks, there are veterans on this team who will very likely be traded away. Also, LA has several 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks, along with other prospects, that they can package together to move up in the draft.
Even so, I have a firm belief that the Kings will only draft two players in the first round. Three's a stretch. If they get more than two first round picks, I'm certain a couple will be packaged together to move up, or traded away to get more immediate help.
