Corey Perry has willingly fought several opponents. His fight card is bigger than Dustin's. He has instigated fights whereas Dustin has not. Say what you will about the kid but the kid doesn't run. He sucks at fighting and loses most of the time but it's nice that his team doesn't have to baby sit him 100% of the time.
fighting opponents...he has yet to pick a single one. He backs down from everybody.
really? He may not fight alot, but its not like he's never dropped the gloves. As stated above, especially now more than ever, he's too important to the team to be sitting in the box doing nothing for 5 minutes.
When you lead your team in goals, I think it's better to stay on the ice and score goals instead of picking your nose in the box for 5 minutes. His hits destroy players and draw penalties. If you wanna call him a hit-and-run player, then so be it. I love it.
The deterrent of fighting opens up other parts of the game. If you run all the time then people are going to take liberties with you and your teammates.
Also...no offense but I think that people that say "I'd rather have him on the ice than in the box for 5 minutes" aren't using common sense. A forward plays what? 18-20 minutes a game? That means he spends 40-42 minutes a game on the bench. If he gets a 5 minute major for fighting are you telling me that he'll only get 13-15 minutes a game as a result? Or is your coach smart enough to see to it that he still gets his 18-20? Come on people...THINK!
Letting the league know that you won't allow yourself to be pushed around is a positive thing. Then again, if you prefer your hockey team to get pushed around all over the ice then so be it.

I never said he has never fought bro. I said he never has picked an opponent. I am fully aware of every single fight Dustin Brown has ever been in and they all have one thing in common.....he was given no choice but to fight by his opponent.
The day that I see Dustin Brown stick up for a teamate and willingly fight is the day that I'll stop thinking of him as a hit and run visor fighter.

yeah he'll still get the same amount of playing time, but those 5 minutes hes in the box he could have had 2 or 3 shifts instead
Meanwhile, Corey Perry threatens Pavel Datsyuk. "I'm gonna get you!" Yeah, Datsyuk's real scary, and Perry's got a big pair for threatening him.
Gabby V.
GO KINGS GO!!!
You're a typical puck bunny aren't you? I ask because you are making remarks about Perry that show that you know nothing about him. The remarks are merely to defend you hockey crush aren't they?

Dude, I like you man. So please don't make me reach into my monitor and slap you upside the head.
If the guy still gets the same minutes he gets every night then he'll get the same shifts he gets every night regardless of whether he fights or not.
Now, if dude were to go out and get a game misconduct for 3rd man in then I'll agree with you but 5 in the box for fighting will have no effect whatsoever on his ice time or the number of shifts he takes.
