You guys probably already read that 2009 2nd Round Draft pick, Kyle Clifford, signed a pro contract with the Kings yesterday. Below is the blah news item from the Kings website, but also a short article (with quotes) from the Barrie Examiner, which is the newspaper for Clifford's OHL team.
This article wasn't online yet when I did the small update yesterday, but here's a little more info and some quotes from Colten Teubert on his return to Regina. His first game back on the ice for the Pats is tonight.
NOTE: The Pats haven't named their captains, but the letters are expected to be distributed amongst a group comprising Delahey, Teubert, Leffler, RW Jordan Eberle and RW Garrett Mitchell. The team is still waiting to see if Eberle returns from the Edmonton Oilers. "It's not just him, we wanna see who's stepping forward to make a case to be that captain," said Parker. "We're not gonna rush into it. We're gonna let things play out and let guys make that decision for us a little bit."
Regina gets it's first win of the year. Colten Teubert was -1 with 2PIM. Game article isn't online yet from the Leader-Post, but there is an entry from the paper's blog, Slapshots. I'll try to update this post later with the game article when it is uploaded.

We didn’t see a lot of second chances (on Guhle) with exception of that one goal. Those guys are a big reason for that. They’re tough to play against and they make the opposition pay a price.”
*Kyle Clifford was assigned back to the Barrie Colts yesterday. The Colts have a game tonight, so there's a slight chance Clifford jumps right into the lineup. No article in the Barrie Examiner yet and no mention of the transaction from the Colts' website.
*Speaking of the Barrie Colts, I noticed an interesting addition to their roster, former Kings prospect Bryan Cameron. Barrie traded for Cameron earlier this month. Nice addition to the roster. Cameron (playing as an overager) brings big junior league stats to the team. Curious to see if he ends up playing on Clifford's line.
*Must have missed something, because I didn't realize that David Kolomatis had been assigned to Manchester and that Geordie Wudrick was sent back to Swift Current already. Wudrick has already played a couple of games for the Swift Current Broncos (1g, 1a, 2pts, -1, 4PIM). Kolomatis' sad face has been removed from Post #1, and the status on both players has been updated in Post 3.
*Frozen Fury weekend. I'm debating whether or not to take the laptop and try to provide the CHL updates tomorrow and Sunday. Doesn't seem realistic that I'll be able to get it done, and hopefully, most of you ****ers will be in Vegas partying it up with the rest of us anyway and not give a damn what happens in Canada over the weekend.
09-25-09 Schedule

Rouyn-Noranda (Delauriers) @ Rimouski
Montreal (Berube) vs Lewiston
WHL
Calgary (Jones, Kozun) @ Medicine Hat (Vey)
Regina (Teubert) vs Moose Jaw
Swift Current (Wudrick) @ Brandon (eventually Schenn)
J-F Berube was the backup goalie for this game. No game article from the Montreal Gazette.
WHL - Calgary beat Medicine Hat, 5-4, in a shootout
Martin Jones picks up the win, saving 28 of 32 shots on goal. Brandon Kozun had a goal, 3 assists AND scored the only goal in the shootout and only got 2nd star of the game from the Medicine Hat homers. For Medicine Hat, Linden Vey went 0-0-Even-0 and missed in his shootout attempt.
Colten Teubert had 1 assist and 2PIM in the loss. As an added note, former Kings goalie prospect, Linden Rowat, was traded by Regina to the Lethbridge Hurricanes for a conditional 5th round draft pick in the bantam draft. Rowat was stuck behind two younger goalies and didn't have much leverage in trade talks. Rowat will now play for the Hurricanes as a 20 year old.
Year-to-date stats updated in Post #1. Kozun already tearing it up with 10 points in the 4 games he has played since being cut from Kings training camp. Also see below that Martin Jones injured an ankle on Friday and will be out of the lineup for 7-10 days.
09-27-09 Results
QMJHL - Montreal lost to Acadie-Bathurst, 3-1
J-F Berube did not start or play for the Juniors. The Montreal Gazette mentions the loss in the last paragraph of the article below.

Eliezer Sherbatov scored for the Juniors. The P.E.I. Rocket will be the next visitor to the Verdun Auditorium on Wednesday.
Martin Jones is out of the lineup for 7-10 days (sprained ankle), and Brandon Kozun was +1 with 1 assist and 2PIM. The Hitmen are off to a 4-0 start on the season.

Williamson said Jones' injury isn't severe, but being early in the season, the club figured it's best to ensure he's 100% before returning.
Snider drew the starting assignment when No. 1 Martin Jones came up lame on a bad ankle following Friday’s 5-4 win at Medicine Hat. The 19-year-old candidate for Canada’s world junior team is expected to be out for up to 10 days.
Colten Teubert was -2 with 2PIM. Fortunately for the Pats, Jordan Eberle finally got cut from Edmonton's training camp. He will be back in the lineup for Regina soon. Blog post is below. If the Leader-Post uploads a game article, I will update with that link later on.
Of this year's CHL class, I think it's safe to say that the progress of Brayden Schenn (along with Jones and Clifford) will be of the most interest to people. Unfortunately, I have learned that the local newspaper for the Brandon Wheat Kings, the Brandon Sun, requires a login to look at their online articles. Now, some newspapers require this, and it's usually no big deal. However, only subscribers to the Brandon Sun are allowed to register logins. THIS I have never seen before. Brandon Sun, you suck. I wrote to the sports editor in an attempt to get access from way over here in CA. I explained the situation and was unsuccessful in my attempt. For the sake of the thread, I will try contacting the subscription desk and inquiring about buying an online subscription or even a goddamn newspaper subscription, but who knows if they will allow it. It's definitely not the money, but the fact that every other paper allows access to its online articles. So why not the Brandon Sun? Brandon, Ontario for f***s sake! Anyway, I'll do what I can to bring you info from the local newspaper in Brandon, but there's a chance the Schenn information will only include articles from the Wheaties website and/or SLAM. And if I need to buy a newspaper subscription, then I pity the visor-wearing little Canadian kid that has to peddle his ass to LA to deliver my paper.
