Jack Johnson was average, if not useless this game. I live in Calgary and have been watching the Flames a long time and Phaneuf had so much more of an impact his rookie year than Johnson that it disgusts me that we honor Johnson with a cool nickname that he hasn't even earned. In fact, it makes us all look foolish. So what do you say? Is JJ just JJ? He should be. Flame away flamers and enjoy the Kool-Aid (Tastes too fruity for me).
We are used to this though, everyone wanted to trade and dump Brown and not give him a chance to mature. Now they are quiet, and so will be the JMFJ naysayers when he has had the chance to develop.

First, he "earned" that name in college.
Second, he's a 20 year old. Let me repeat that: A 20 YEAR OLD on defense.
Third, so what if Fuhn-Noof had a better rookie year? It doesn't matter. Not to mention, I don't think Fuhn-noof was on nearly as ****ty a team as the Kings.
Fourth, the only people drinking Kool-aid around here are the ones that thought the Kings had a shot in hell at making the playoffs this year to begin with. Those same people are flabbergasted when the Kings come out of the gate NOT firing on all cylinders. For those of us not wearing the purple shaded glasses, we realized that (a) JMFJ was not going to dominate the league this year and (b) he was going to make some pretty horrendous rookie mistakes, particularly as a 20 year old. Thus far, he's exceeded my expectations by making less mistakes than I anticipated.
It's not Jack Mother ****ing Johnson, it's the TEAM! Wake up! The only guy who can change our circumstances is Lombardi. He's said it himself, if he wanted to make this team a playoff team this year, HE COULD. But, it would ruin our future and we'd keep on with the same "hoping for 8th place" bull****.

I think he deserves the MF for being a 20 year old rookie playing 20+ minutes a night and having less than a handful of bad games since the start of the season.
He stays JMFJ to me. You don't have to use it and can call him what you will. I doubt if he cares what you or I think about it. He had a bad game, he's a rookie. I am over it already. Besides, the rest of the team didn't really have a good game either. The responsibility needs to be spread thinly enough to cover everyone tonight I think.
