Price tag or not. He's locked up for 2 years. Which is this year + next year = part of our rebuilding plans.

So like, when the Kings are actually supposed to be decent (09-10 at the earliest), were supposed to pay a guy that does one thing pretty well, and is a UFA that has expressed his love for the Leafs multiple times (even as a King), 6million to stay, as opposed to trading him and getting something the Kings NEED in return?
His contract now isn't relevant except that it's left a bitter taste in his mouth.
