With the Kings picking 2nd overall we will be getting some much needed help on the blue line. My thought was if the Kings get Stamkos it would mean Cammalleri would be expendable. The question is do the Kings now try to sign Cammalleri? Do we trade him during the off-season/before the trade deadline? Or do we let him become a free agent at the end of next season? The draft lottery affects more than just who we draft so how does it impact the current roster?
DL might trade him on draft day but i think we could get more for him at the trading deadline next season. Either way i don't think cammy will be a king after next season. he is going to want money, i'd rather DL spend it on kopitar, JMFJ and sully.
has anyone thought of the possibility of trading Cammi and Ersberg, or any other goalie prospect, and the number 2 pick to Tampa for the first pick? if you think its too much, make a different offer, but if LA has that big of a hard on for this Stamkos kid, why not?

It would probably cost us both 1st rounders + a prospect that's close to NHL ready for Tampa's pick, even if they were willing to deal it, which I don't think they would.
With the talk of Stamkos being NHL ready, you stick him in the #2 center slot behind Lecavalier, and Richards is now replaced for the Rookie Max salary. Richards got them a potential #1 for a few years until Ramo is ready, cap room to resign Boyle, and 2 decent top 9 forwards.

They come back next season and make the playoffs.
i don't think they'd give up the pick either. the already fragile Tampa fan base would torch the main offices! if you think about it though, they do need a goalie and LA has an assfull of them. i don't think it would hurt for DL to throw it out there!

Their Tandem is going to be Mike Smith and Karri Ramo, and although I haven't watched a ton of either, both are better than anybody we have that isn't named Bernier.
