I think this statement says alot! Watching these guys this year was fun if you didn't expect alot as far as where we were in the standings. And I don't think anyone could honestly expect too much this year.

Now that I am no longer going to be paying thousands of dollars on tickets, parking and food and no longer driving for an hour in rush hour traffic through downtown LA 40 times, I probably will.
for what it's worth I see and agree with the argument about hitting the black hole with developing talent and not a bunch of seasoned UFAs (thanks Wolvie). At the same time I will stick to my guns that Lombardi is not the guy to take you all the way. He had 7 years in San Jose and I expect him to have a total run of 6-7 years in Los Angeles. Someone else will have to take this team over the top.
LOL! I almost missed this post, too. As far as "backing down," I don't see posting your opinion and leaving at that as "backing down." So it's kinda funny that you've basically let adgy pick a fight he's not going to be in.

How long did Burke have in Vancouver before he won his 1st cup.
Oh yeah that's right, he didn't get it done until he got a 2nd chance.
I don't know if I could feel any more sorry for someone as functionally retarded as yourself:
NONE OF IT MATTERS.
There are TWO FA's Lombardi has signed that *might* still be here when it matters. Preissing, who by your own admission met expectations, and Handzus. Keep telling yourself that Lombardi would say in the media "We fully expected this would be an off year for Handzus while he rehabs his knee, but we knew we weren't going to be very good anyway so we were willing to sacrifice the first year for the remaining three on his contract."
I thought you weren't arguing with me anymore Nancy. BTW - I know you think the best way to win an argument is to be the loudest and most obnoxious, but having been around here a lot longer than you, you might want to try a new tact from time to time.

Burke is more of a take you over the top GM than a rebuilding one. Perhaps when it's time for Anaheim to rebuild via the draft we just trade GMs.
No thanks, but I do agree it will be a major challenge, and a different challenge for Lombardi once he has the reserve list completely built. He is going to have to make the right trades.
Right! you can't prove anything that would have happened, but you can criticize Lombardi based on the fact that what you would have done, which you can't prove the outcome of, would have been better that what Lombardi did do.
Wow, you're a special kind of stupid. Wasn't the point of this thread for us Lombardi detractors to say what we would've done differently?
