Especially considering Blake's recent comments posted around here, this sounds more like somebody who should be the captain. Oh yeah, and there's that effort he brings to each and every game. You know, the whole leading by example thing.
"It's going to be our responsibility to take ownership of this and make this a successful team and that's a challenge for us," Brown said.
"This is going to help us, going through this type of season. Knowing what it's like to lose is a big motivator, at least for me personally. You never know how much you hate losing until you experience it."

I like the idea of a young player being captain. Look at Crosby (okay - he's a badass)...but I think it shakes things up to put a young motivated player in this position. Maybe it says that veterans shouldn't rest on their laurels but grind every night just as much as the younger kids...Kings need a shake up every now and again...gotta try something new.

He's not a widdle kwid anymore. He's stepped up. He's become a man. DL himself has pointed this out.
I thought a great example of his new maturity was when he cracked Purcell w/ a slap shot during warm ups before the Detroit game and said, "Watch the staring." (Purcell, apparently, was star struck by the Deadthings).
The point it, I can't imagine Brown doing that even a couple of years ago. That's leadership. And, he's shown that he's willing to step up and take chances when we need a goal.
I fully support Brown for Captain next season.
