Phaneuf is
1. Kings Trade Rob Blake, Dallas 1st round pick and a 3rd round pick in 2009 to Anaheim for Francois Beauchemin and Edmonton’s 1st round pick.
2. Kings Trade Michael Cammelleri to Edmonton for Joni Pitkanen and Torres.
*Also look to trade Preissing and Modry. Re-sign Stuart. Try and draft Drew Doughty with Edmonton's pick and get Stamkos. Re-sign Blake in offseason. Next years defensive unit: Blake, Stuart, Vishnovsky, JMFJ, Beauchemin, Pitkanen and Harrold.
I know this is unlikely to happen, but I thought I'd give it a chance. We get a lot younger on the defensive side which is what DL wants.
So I wonder if this send down and call ups are to see what we have from Manchester that might be ready for the BIGS next season?
They seem to be sticking some youth in with the Vets to see how the play and to see if they grasp the higher play of the NHL. Give the ones that are ready a chance, so you know what you might have to sign in the off-season? They might only have to have a few fillers to sign. We can only hope.
I f Tuk plays like a$$ this call-up, I don't think the Kings would invest anymore time in him. With prospects after him playing better than him, more coming up fast, and that he's had his chances, he better get lucky REAL quick.
As a fan, my patience is wearing thin hoping he's going to amount to something.
19 (6g 13a) points in 38 games? A +/- of -1? Not sparkling numbers but...
I think he's going to go in a package because it looks good on paper that he's 22 and a high pick. Certainly he isn't showing the promise that got him picked as high as he was.
It looks like DL is just taking a look to see what he has. Seems to me that the time is up for Tuk. It's time to make a decision on this guy if it hasn't already been done. It seems like these guys are getting tryouts so DL can either decide to keep them or show that these guys have some value in a trade.
I hope Boyle doesn't get traded. He's the type of player the Kings have lacked all year. I loved that play around the net against PHO when he jamming away at the goalie trying to get a loose puck. I love that he hasn't backed down. I like his style, I wish he'd hit a little more but I think it's only a matter of time before he's comfortable.
If he can play center in the NHL the Kings will have serious size down the middle with Boyle and Kopi. If he don't get traded I'll be ordering my new Kings jersey with 22 on it.
