On a related note, why do we get hardly any games in HD? To the best of my recollection, they've only broadcast 2 games in HD this year for the Kings (and one of them was a Kings vs. Ducks game). There have been way more Ducks games in HD this year. Not to mention that every stinkin' Lakers game is in Hi-Def. What gives???
According to the Ducks TV schedule and the Kings TV schedule, they each got 10 HD games this season out of Fox Sports West/Prime (including one each vs. the other). The Kings have had 7 games so far in HD and the Ducks have had 9.

That is not the decision of the team, but Fox Sports Net. Not only is it based on ratings (like the others have said), but there is (was?) a bandwidth issue at the FSN Master Control facility in Houston. All Fox owned FSN broadcasts go through there, and it can only handle so much traffic. Therefore they choose what gets broadcast in HD.
They have completed a new facility, and are transitioning over to it. It may take some time, but expect to see more games next season in HD.
And before someone brings up "Why are so many Sharks games in HD?", the answer is FSN Bay Area is not owned by Fox. It is a Comcast company.
A "gift" like that doesn't happen for no reason in your own division. There had to be some return for Burke.
How is that any more of a gift than putting him on waivers and losing him for nothing to the Coyotes, who are also in your division? I'm sure Burke would've preferred him going to the Kings for a 4th than to the Coyotes for free.

It means there had to be more to lose than any of us know about, Einstein.
All of the excuses some of you put on here as the reason for lack of HD broadcasts are just that. Excuses. But I would like to know why broadcasts nowadays looks worse than games did 25 years ago? Seriously, I watched a classic game broadcast on NHL channel of the game between the Oilers and Kings back in I believe 84 and it was much clearer than the BS we get shown now. There is absolutely no excuse for that. NONE. The games are damn near unwatchable. You want to make the game more viewer friendly? Make it more watchable so you can actually read names on the jerseys and maybe just maybe, see the f'n puck. Also, I wish somebody could explain to me why Jim Fox didn't have his speech impediment (starting words before finishing the previous word) when he did color during the 1993 Stanley Cup games I just saw highlights of?

Says you, based on absolutely nothing other than what you think. There could easily have been nothing more to lose but Lombardi simply didn't want Bryzgalov. Period. Unless you have some facts you'd like to share.
Where does it say Burke wanted a 4th round pick for him? All I've read is that he claimed he wanted a conditional pick for him, and that can be anything.
