I got home last night and had the game recorded. I was able to listen to the game on the radio live, but when I went to review the highlights, I couldn't get over how entertaining and captivating Bob Miller makes OT sound. I knew what the outcome was and I still had to watch the whole OT period from start to finish, just to hear Bob's call.
I know a lot of us gush around here that we have some of the best broadcasters in the business, but I can't think of any other announcer in hockey that forces me to watch a replay of a game in real-time just to hear the call.
You really don't even need to be watching the TV - just listening to Bob's cadence through the broadcast is all you need to know how big the save was, or how good of a scoring chance a player had.
Great stuff. Thanks Bob!

bob miller and jim fox have been really annoying me lately. all of Bob's mistakes and inability to see the puck and jim's stupid "WHOA!" when anything exciting happens are really starting to get to me. I don't really know why either. Just thought i'd share.
We, as L.A. Kings fans love Bob and Jim. But if you read other teams message boards and they get the FSN West Feed... they'll usually insult Bob and Jim. Just like we do to other team's announcers.
That's all fine and dandy. They're supposed to be biased for the teams they work for. It's the national tv announcers who need to be unbiased.

Get out more. Bob and Jim are better than 95% of broadcasters throughout the league and have been doing their best with losing hockey for far too long. Trust me.
Jim is ok as far as color guys go.. Nothing special..
But Bob is the best! Plain and simple. Listen to other broadcasters and you'll hear allot of silence and ded air throughout the broadcast. No TV play by play guy calls the game as it's going like Bob. Move by move comes out of his mouth as opposed to only when something good is happening.. There's allot of dead air with other broadcasters...
Miller in 2008!

You never realize how good Bob is until you start listening to some of the others on the Center Ice package. Some of those guys are so bad they make the Ducks play by play guy look like Bob Miller.
Listening to the Versus guys in the first year after the lockout was painful. You just always had the idea that they weren't fast enough to stay with the game, and so they always digressed into side talk.
What I like about Bob is that if you wanted to, you could leave the game on in the background and know *precisely* when to look at the screen for a scoring chance, and most of the time you'll catch the goal. He's just THAT good at telegraphing what's about to happen.
