Blake staying put?

8 Days left for Blake to waive his no-trade clause, but it appears he wants to ****** us out of picks & prospects for his 2 months of meaningless play the rest of the season, taking away some of Jack's minutes or maybe Harrold playing

could be that we are having a hard time getting a 1st round pick back for Blake so what is the point of trading him? We arleady have like 5 2nd round picks this year, if we aren't getting a first for Blake then I don't want to help any teams like the Ducks, Sharks or Red Wings. they can go to hell.

I tried to post in a thread much like this one but it errored out. anywhoozle...

I am now once again in the frame of mind to boo that piece of crap wrap eating surfer SOB. I CAN see the other side of it but at this point I am brought right back to hating this guy. He bolts on us to go get the cash and a ring and then comes back when we're the only ones dumb enough to over pay him to come back and surf. He doesn't come anywhere near earning his 6mil a year but keeps preaching that he wants to be in LA and rebuild this team. If he cared half as much as he claimed, the best thing he could do is drive an extra 45 minutes down the 5 and get us a damn pick, prospect or both.

I wiped the slate clean when he came back just so I wouldn't be booing a roster player who wasn't Modry, but I'm sure my therapist would tell you that I still had Blake issues to work through. He didn't deliver considering his pay grade and then once this bag o' douche starts actually playing and turning some GMs heads he decides he doesn't want to leave??? HATE is what I now have for this guy.

Feel free to flame away. I just needed to purge after hearing that our biggest chip in this trade season was going to take his ball and go home. Once again screwin the Kings.

If Dean does keep him, he better work out a contract extension before the deadline. Because either:
#1 - knowing Blake, he'll just up and leave and we'll get nothing in the off-season
or
#2 - he'll command 6 million again for next year and DL will have to say ok for risk of getting nothing in return for Blake.

Hope DL doesnt give him a no trade clause on his next contract offer though, my god, what a selfish pig Rob is.

I'd like to see Blake dealt too... but if HE wants to stay, and if DL wants him to stay, so be it. I'm not gonna be jumping around like a madman cause he's a King on Feb 27.

That's true, because Rob Blake has a solid history of being a team player who has always looked out for the best of the team before himself... he's obviously earned the benefit of the doubt.

Depends on what you mean by the right kind of deal. If Blake has limited Lombardi's options to two teams and neither one is willing to make a deal, then I suppose that is one possibility. That situation would be enough of a problem, and would indicate his inflexibility in terms of doing whatever he can to help the organization.

Another possibility is that Blake has just decided that he doesn't want to accept any kind of trade.

If it's the former, I would hope that Lombardi would lower the asking price until a deal can be made. If it's the latter, I wouldn't be surprised since the exact same scenario was played out last season.

Either way I hope Blake won't insult our intelligence by trying to say that it's in the best interest of the organization for him to stay put for the last 6 weeks of the regular season and then sign a new deal with the Kings for next season and beyond.
