About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Inside the Kings
I don't know if my comment will get posted, but basically:
At least the Kings now know that Blake won't play for another team, so they can use this in the off-season when negotiating his contract. Blake does what's best for Blake, not his team. The Kings organization needs to take the same approach come re-up time. Hopefully, they won't overpay again for this has-been.

Exactly, if DL intends to re-sign him, I hope he low-balls the hell out of him and only does it for a max of one year. If he really wants to retire as a King, then there's no point of overpaying for him anymore.
Agree now that he has made it clear that it's Manhattan Beach or nothing DL has to low ball him. If he cries foul and signs for greener pastures, well so be it...

EVERY player does what is best for them and their family. The team they play for is a JOB people, it's not their entire life, as much as you'd like to think it is.
Go boo a player who was SIGNED by this club, with a NTC. Go boo the club that gave him that contract if you don't like it, but he took their offer, WITH the NTC and that is that.
It's so easy for fans to say that this player should have taken less money to sign with their team, and that this other player should have waived their no trade clause, and that this player over there should have signed for another year at a better price.
Go live ONE DAY in their shoes and then tell me what it's like and that you have any idea of what they and their families go through.
Boooo indeed.
Give me a ****ing break.

concur on the boooo. rob blake is full of crap. says he cares about the organization, etc... I wouldnt mind if he admitted that he only has his best interest in mind, and didnt try to pawn off his selfishness as love for the organization. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
