Bernier, the Kings' first-round pick in the 2006 Entry Draft, played well enough in training camp to get the start in Los Angeles' season-opener against the defending Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks in London, England. Before a full house on a global stage, Bernier stopped 27 shots and came within seven minutes of a shutout in a 4-1 victory. He was voted the game's second star.

Agreed. With the numbers he put up, I think he's definitely ready for Manchester and a sniff at backup duties this season. More than that and you're dreaming.
I hope he goes to Manchester and continues his development.
I'm generally not very interested in draft picks and prospects...following the 'kids' doesn't excite me at all, but if he is to be the great goalie everyone says he will be, might as well take all the time he needs.
The Kings will suck this year, no use in ruining Bernier's confidence.
Let LaBarbera and Ersberg take the barrage and embarassment.
Just as long as he keeps 45 the rest of his career I don't care where he plays next year. The Kings defense will look like swiss cheese anyway. Give him a year in Manchester for experience & let the D have some time to gel.
