Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like a lot of goaltenders indicate that the main reason getting minutes is important when you're young is so you learn the other opposing players tendencies. The way I understand it, it's sort of like pitchers in baseball- you tend to throw certain pitches to certain players.
If that's the case, and Bernier outplays everyone in camp again, you gotta start him. Let him take his lumps along with the rest of the good young talent on this team and find a coach bright enough to use these rough experiences to make the young core guys tight. Use it to motivate them personally and as a team, then maybe we'll at least have a legitimate Western Confrence Finalist on our hands before the Mayan calendar runs out.
We are going to suck this year start with Ersberg with the Big club and Bernier in the AHL, JLB backs up Ersberg.
See what happens in 10 - 15 games...if the team is playing well and Ersberg is Clouts-ing it up bring up Bernier. If the Kings suck, leave Bernier in the A for a year and we all grin and bear the year and get a top 2 pick.

I'm sure there's more to it than that. Taylor only played one game this past season and it was backup to Ersberg. And cross Fukufuji off that list. He played for LA in 06-07 and during that season Ersberg was still in Sweden and not even signed by LA yet. The only name to really question over Ersberg would be Quick.

If we had Osgood last year he would have been lit up and everyone would be on his case. He made $800,000 in Det. last year and won the cup. Hockey is a team game. It doesn't matter who is in net. They all have the abillity to win games. But when you give up 20 or more chances in the slot, constant odd man rushes and bad give aways you will not win games.
