Beginner's Hockey Workshop with Daryl Evans

The Kings Fan Development Department announced on Tuesday that the Los Angeles Kings will host a Beginner's Hockey Workshop with Daryl Evans, designed to teach beginning players how to play the game.

The Kings' Beginner Hockey Workshop will provide participants with everything you need to start playing the coolest game on earth - full gear, equipment fitting, 5 clinics, Kings legend and Radio Color Commentator Daryl Evans as instructor, chalk talks, and 2 tickets to 2 great Kings games - all for just $425!

Evans is in his eighth season as the Kings radio commentator, teaming with veteran play-by-play announcer Nick Nickson and heard on all club radio broadcasts on flagship station KTLK AM 1150 and along the Kings Radio Network. Evans is also an executive with the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo, formerly serving as the facility’s General Manager.

Originally selected by the Kings in the ninth-round (178th overall) of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft, the left wing recorded 52 points (22-30=52) in 113 career NHL games with the Kings, Washington Capitals and Toronto Maples Leafs. Also, in 11 career playoff games, Evans, 45 (1/12/61), registered 13 points (all of those 13 points came with the Kings during the 1982 playoffs).

I did a little research, and apparently the gear is:

Bauer Vapor skates
Itech gear
Easton Synergy stick

Not bad deal at all! Shame I already own all this stuff.

You can still participate if you already have gear. But it's only $100 cheaper. Must be getting one hell of a deal on the gear.

Since other clinics run by Evans are $25, you figure at least $125 is for the clinics themselves. The tickets to the game are easy enough to through in since nobody in their right mind will be paying $95 per ticket to see the Kings play out the season. So $300 left to get your gear from HockeyGiant is still pretty good. Just wish I could participate for like $125 ish if I don't take the tickets or the gear.

The other $25 clinics run by Evans include a 300 level ticket, though...so really the clinics themselves have little monetary worth. The price is really about the tickets, I think.

If I could do the workshop for just the stick and the workshops, maybe I'd do that.

What are the odds that one person does this clinic... impresses the hell out of whoever is even watching... and you score a NHL/AHL/ECHL contract? =p

Where did you do your research because according to the flyer skates are not involved. Let me know if you have seen otherwise.

I am starting the women's workshop with a fitting this weekend. It's a little cheaper and IMO a better deal because we get all brand new gear (The only thing I need is skates and ice pants with socks.) We have one session after a kings game plus I guess get vip treatment with 2 lowerbowl tickets to that game. We also have our other sessions at TSC and then finish it off with a game after a Kings game and again get all the vip treatment and tickets for that game as well. I'm pretty excited. I can let you know all of the gear I get this weekend. Oh ya and it was cheaper

I know you're joking but they seemed pretty interested in making sure you were an actual beginner. If you have any experience, they sounded like they didn't want you in the clinic. They want to make sure everyone is starting from scratch I guess to make everyone feel secure enough to go out there and suck it up like everyone else.
