JJ's been making some awfully poor reads over the past 4-5 games, and he needs some time to sit, watch the game and get a new perspective.
The Minnesota game was especially bad, but tonight, man, dude just couldn't make a clean, open pass to save his life. A couple of piss-poor passes in the final minute killed all hope of any late game heroics.
The Conroy goal was another poor effort - caught watching and waving his stick on the wrong side of two Flames.
There is a serious lack of puck-skill among our current group of blueliners, with Doughty being the only one who can break a trap with a single pass. Johnson has to be smarter - with four safety-first trenchers like O'Donnell, Greene, Scuderi and Drewiske, JJ simply must move the puck more effectively.
This ain't Michigan, Jack. The Jack Johnson Show ain't on public access anymore. Skill alone doesn't mean anything without putting in the mental work.

If the Kings weren't on a 4 game losing streak... maybe. Since they are... no. Although I'd sit #11 before I'd sit #3 - assuming #11 is healthy (and that's a BIG assumption).

When things are this bad, there is usually way too much going on single out one player as the source.
However, during this losing streak, Johnson hasn't just been struggling - he has been an outright liability. His poor individual decisions are costing goals, and the bricklayers up front can't compensate.

I'm sorry but I'm not with all the JJ haters around here. I think he's been playing very well for the past few games. He's been more physical in the corners and around the net and hasn't been making the glaring mistakes he made early in the season.
And how you can even think to blame him for the Conroy goal is beyond me. He was put in a terrible situation on a bad read by the goaltender, who should've been back in his crease well before that puck reached Conroy's stick.

I'm thinking that as well. Something has to be done to shake up the O.
I realize its WAAAAAAY too early to panic but DL either needs to make a trade that will kick-start the offense, which would likely cost a lot more than we'd like, or accept the very real possibility that this team will not make the playoffs.
Why the hell does almost every team in the WC have to be so G-Damn good? I would kill for the Kings to suddenly be realigned to the SE division.....

JWTFJ has been needing a break for a while, actually. TOO many goals have been direct results of his bad decision making. I don't know what's going on with him. He's usually a lot smarter than he has been playing. Like Tony said though, I'd sit Anze first IF he's healthy, but at this point, I'd sit at least 1/4 of the team as well, so...yeah.

I am not putting the blame on him for the goal - but I am calling him out for poor positioning that not only let a pass get through him too easily, but also leaving Conroy wide open in the slot. He has to be stronger in that situation - you can't play that soft when the goalie is behind the net.
And Johnson's poor reads cost the Kings two goals against Minnesota the other night - the Havlat goal was a case of JJ backing in too deep for no reason, instead of stepping up and either directing him towards the boards or delaying the play while waiting for help from a backchecker.
The Belanger goal was 100% created by another poor Johnson read.
He is making a TON of mistakes, and they are putting an offensively-challeneged team behind the 8-ball.

Yup. I wish to god I could remember a game not too long ago that I was watching with ges, or talking to him when it was on, maybe he'll remember. But I know we both just kinda paused after the other team scored an EASY goal and were like "what the hell Jack?" Not only was he way out of position, but his back was to the play and he just wasn't paying attention AT ALL. It was awful. And he just does that too many times for it to be forgivable. It's almost like he's trying to do too much and then he just gets caught. Which...again, is bad decision making. It's fine if he's aggressive in the corners, but if he has to take himself way out of position to do it, then he's NOT playing well.
