About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. spector must've "lifted" the idea from doc.
I could see Visnovsky being moved to Philadelphia if Carter and Coburn or Parent were coming back our way.
Keep in mind I think it would be a trade Lombardi would consider, not one that is likely to happen. I know Lombardi wouldn't mind getting Niittymaki either.
I'd like either of those moves.
But any deal with Philli is going to have to take some other cap heavy player back for LA because they have almost no space available.
- LA Kings GM Dean Lombardi has told the other NHL GMs that any King over 25 is available. "That includes D Rob Blake, LW Ladislav Nagy, C Derek Armstrong, LW Scott Thornton, D Brad Stuart, D Tom Preissing and D Jaroslav Modry."
SPECTOR'S NOTE: The Kings will be trying to clean house by the deadline and I suspect that at least two players from the above list could be playing elsewhere by February 26th.
Spector is reporting from Bruce Garrioch who is a bigger douche than Eklund. At least Eklund reports without bias. Garrioch doesn't know about any hockey south of the border and east of the Mississippi.

We need defensemen who can play right now too. We can NOT just assume that:
a) Blake will come back to the Kings next year (regardless if he's traded), plus he'll be older & worse
b) Harrold/Dallman are ready for a full time role (though they've looked pretty good so far)
c) Modry's will stay as solid/adequate as he has beenl, plus he has no offensive upside whatsoever, something Stuart and Preissing do
Johnson and Visnovsky seem like the only SURE things to me
Plus we just signed Preissing to a long term deal and it's really bad form to trade a guy in the first year of such a contract. I'd work on re-signing Stuart unless you get something really good for him.
We traded Sopel to Vancouver for a 2nd and a 4th round pick, I'd say at least that for Stuart.
And we'd better get something much better than that for Preissing to trade him, IMO.
According to Lombardi, Visnovsky's doesn't kick in until his new contract begins in July.
I don't know if you've noticed, but DL has explicitly mentioned the same thing at least twice in last 6 months. The journalist mentioned that Visnovsky can't be traded because of his NTC and wanted to continue with some other question. But DL interrupted him by saying that he CAN be traded before his contract kicks in. As he wouldn't like any of the GM's listening to the interview getting a wrong impression...
Although to be honest, I have no reason to go against what Irish Blue has on his site since he gets his contract figures and other information from Dean Lombardi directly.
