Instead of drafting defense that may or may not play next year - why dont we trade for (not sign to an offer sheet) Shea Weber. I think that Nashville will be willing to move him if they cant sign him to a long term deal. I know that some people say that he could get Phaneuf type money but not after a season shortened by injury and a not so productive return ofensively. But he is big, young, hits haaaaard and would be a nasty defensive partner for JMFJ.
So if we get the number one pick - We should draft Staaaaaaamkos and then trade for Shea Weber - killing two birds with one stone. Would Cammy and Dallas' first get it done? Maybe send Hickey, Harrold,or Piskula along too. Then I hope that DL signs Stuart again in the off-season.
That is what I'd like to see next year:
JFMJ - Weber
Blake (you know he'll be back) - Priessing
Lubo - Harrold (if he doesnt get moved) or Stuart
Ersberg, Labs or Bernier
Add a top 6 to round out a strong, young group of forwards - Kopitar, Brown, Sully, Frolov, Boyle, Purcell, Ellis. Im happy with this team right now. I know were young but letting this group play together next year could shock the league or get us the number one pick next year - Tavares here we come!!!!! (but I hope not)

I think that there is no chance that a package of Cammalleri and draft picks/prospects lands a big fish like Shea Weber.
If you want to start talking to Nashville about Weber, you better start thinking about what life would be like without Dustin Brown or Alexander Frolov.

If it takes Frolov and Dallas' First along with Hickey or whatever other D prospect they want I would do it - in a heartbeat. I like aLex, I do, but if Defense is what we need then why not trade a mid minor peice like Frolov. Brown - No Chance!

Me ---->
That mid-minor peice (sic) is leading the team in PPG. On a bum groin. While playing an all-around game.
I seriously would like to see the Kings go after Ron Hainsey. He will be a UFA, and won't be super expensive.
As always, you're right on the money. There's plenty of good options out there for DL to look at in the offseason. Guys like Hainsey, Eminger, Orpik, Sauer, and Mezei should draw some attention from the Kings.
We gotta keep in mind that Nashville always has payroll issues so they might have to move Weber out of necessity. Im pretty sure Suter is an RFA and possibly Klein so they have a few question marks regarding their D-men and their respective contracts. The Kings definitely have the picks/prospects (and Cammy) to entice them. Weber is probably a long shot but its not a pipe dream imo

Ugh.
Im in no way discounting what Alex Frolov is doing or how he's doing it - but if you ask yourself this one question - which one is better equipt to help us win the Stanley Cup within the next 5 years your answer would be?
If DL's plan is to build from the goal out and we're going to bring in Defense to supplement the draft prospects we have - who else are we going to trade for these players - Frolov, Cammalleri, Boyle, Purcell. These are the tradeable assets - none of which if lost would be detrimental to the long term goals of this franchise
