I heard on the radio today that Tanguay isn't happy with his role on the Flames and would accept a trade. He makes 5.375 this year and next, and it's likely the Flames would move him to clear up space to help re-sign Phanuef, Langkow and Huselius. I see the Kings as possible trading partners only because Calgary is in 'win now' mode, meaning that they might take some of our veterans (dead weight to us) who are UFA's next year. Tanguay's only under contract for another year, so he would add skill and playmaking to the roster, and not tie up salary long term. Your thoughts???
He's a +12 with 38 points. He's a little expensive but at 28, it could be good though because he has alot of post season experience in the post-season which will come in handy with the kiddies BUT he is expensive.
depends on who they want....
but i suspect kings could make use of a decent-sized, very fast, highly skilled and not particularly fragile forward, who's two years shy of 30. also, he's pretty near a ppg guy over his career.
i'd take that phonecall.
Where would he play? Besides, we don't want to help the Flames retain Langkow...
true... but realistically, they'd be able to then move Cammalleri for a defenseman, and with one year remaining on that deal it'd be like signing him to a one-year UFA deal.
