I can't believe people think he is serious. He said at the beginning that his reasons are nonsensical and he did it for all of the top prospects

I seem to recall the same sort of thing being said about Joe Thorton when he was a rookie. It's up to Doughty in the end whether he improves or not.

Gretzky falls into the same category as Doughty. Gretz grew up in Toronto but was a fan of Detroit cause they had Howe, that bandwagoneer! Good thing he turned out to be a bust! :rollseyes:

A comment Lombardi made about Doughty was something along the lines of Doughty isn't not physical, he's just not as physical as Bogosian, who happens to be pretty damn physical.


i dont expect him to line people up like rob blake did with his hip checks, but i dont expect him to curl up like jeff friesen either.

Good point. The not as physical as say, Chris Pronger, hasn't hurt Niklas Lidstrom over the years.
