I think it's less about the injury still needing to heal as it's about Cammy not being in game shape. You can lift weights and get on the bike all you want, but you're not going to have that aerobic stamina that players get when they're consistently playing hard every other night.
However, we all knew that Cammy's troubles began after he got those first 10 goals quick and before his rib injury, so I'm still looking for him to prove himself as well. I just don't think it's fair to say he should jump out of the gate with a gangbuster of points because we wasn't even really doing that for a while before the injury. Let him get into game shape and see if he can elevate his game after all that time off to think about what he has to do to be the player he was in games 1-10.
It's not like I expect the guy to come back and score a hat trick three games in a row. But I expect a player as one dimensional as Cammy to be able to do well in his one dimension when he's on the ice. If he can't do that, he should be sent to Manchester on a conditioning assignment until he can help the team win when he plays.

I'd consider Foxy to be a credible source as a former player, and a guy who's been around hockey players his entire adult life. Is it scientific? No, but nobody keeps stats on production after injury anyway, so it's impossible to prove or disprove.
I'll stand by my argument that a talented player will likely be more productive coming back from an injury than a less-talented one. Heatley at probably 80% is better than Cammi at 100%.
Ok then, so I presume you're expecting Toews to struggle for a couple weeks after missing more than a month, right? Or is Toews >>>> than Cammy too? I'm starting to wonder if Cammy is better than anyone?

Well then give some examples of guys who take MORE than 10 games to do that. And again, I don't mean guys coming back from hernia surgery or knee reconstruction. I mean guys who are coming back from normal run-of-the-mill hockey injuries like Cammy's.
Nothing lasts forever...even cold november rain...and players scoring forever...
some of you are idiots. you guys act like he's the second coming of craig johnson.
So let's see if I understand what you're saying correctly.
Cammy has not scored in 2 games since missing 17 games. He scored 1 goal in the 9 games he played before going on IR and 5 goals in 26 games overall before going on IR.
But life is great and Cammy is fine.
So how long does this need to go on before you act like he's the first coming of Mike Cammalleri, the one dimension scorer who doesn't score that much?

That's a tough argument. I definitely don't think everything is fine in Cammalleri's world at the moment, but I am hoping he can pick up his game before the season ends to increase his value to the team.
It's going to be very interesting to see if Crawford helps him out with minutes on the top line, or if he is forced to sink or swim on his own. I don't know if this would work, but I wouldn't mind seeing a top two lines of:
Brown - Kopitar - O'Sullivan
Frolov - Boyle - Cammalleri
