Sounds crazy but come playoff crunch time coaches want "vets" over younger players or kids. Its the reason Brian Noonan and Stephane Matteau always brought interest come the trade deadline.

I would say about 17 make my tradeable list. Which credibility wise is about the same as Eklund.

Keenan knows and understands the value of having vets in the lineup-another example would be Brad May brought over at the deadline last year for the Ducks. Toughess+Vet Savvy=Playoff interest.

I'd be willing to bet a few bucks that Thornton will get at least 3rd. Veteran toughness for a low cap hit.

I just hope that DL doesn't make the same mistake as last season and go through the deadline with some people not being traded (e.g., Miller).
