We need about 35 SO next year to get to the playoffs. Do it Erik!
Good goaltending will always make the rest of the team look better
Not look better, but play better.
You don't think the D has improved? I guess you are blind to the numerous pucks that "E" has left stranded in the crease? Normally for the Kings, the D are out of position and the opposing team puts the puck in the net. As of late, the Kings have been having inside position and are able to clear the pucks.
As stated in another thread, good D breeds good Goaltending, and vice versa. Most of the shots are coming from the outside, and bad angles. The kind of shots our other goalies seem to let in once or twice a game. JLB can't stop them, let alone control the rebound.
I said this the other day, and Jim Fox mentioned it last night. Good goaltending helps the D, which in turn, allows the D to help the goalie. The Kings D have not had to run around their zone all night chasing after crappy rebounds. That is a huge part of Ersbergs calming effect.
When the Kings have broken down and given up quality scoring chances, "E" has come up big and made the save. I still argue that the Team's defensive play is much improved from earlier in the season.
