On Corey Perry’s injury status:
Corey Perry is making progress. He will skate a little harder today. He skated probably for about an hour and fifteen minutes yesterday. He’s along the lines of there’s a target date that was set a long time ago and quite possibly that he could be available at that time. There’s still a lot of things that have to go right in that scenario. He cannot have any setbacks. We’re talking about a muscle that was severed and then it was severed even more to attach it back to itself. The cut was so deep that they had to actually expand the cut to mesh the muscle back together and allow the healing process to take place.
On Todd Marchant’s availability:
You got to come to the warm up. Don’t ask me about players or lineups, it doesn’t work.
On repeating:
I think that for us, we don’t worry about the repeat. Our tallest task at hand starts tonight against the Dallas Stars. It’s no use to focus on anything other than the Dallas Stars and that’s the mindset that we have to have. I’m sure we have it. Our task it to beat the Dallas Stars in the first game and that starts tonight. Anything beyond that is all window dressing. It’s all flush. We let other people talk about those things. We have to be a focused group because we know they will be. That’s two good hockey teams that have competed hard all year. We’re talking about the fourth and fifth seeds. There’s not a lot of separation on the successes that both teams have been able to have over the regular season. Now, it’s the first team to win four games.
