The Predators rode goalie Dan Ellis to a hot finish and the eighth seed, where they will try to become the latest team to disappoint Red Wings fans. Detroit is now the hockey equivalent of the New York Yankees — a dynamo regular season club whose age slows it down in the playoffs. Nashville's younger, healthier legs and far younger, excellent goalie make this a bad matchup for the Wings, who won the season series 5-3.
