The American Diabetes Association and the Denver Father’s Day Council will host the 2008 Father of the Year Awards on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Denver. This year’s honorees include Ken Ellgen, XCel Energy, Executive Director (Retired), Mark Hellerstein, Chairman of the Board/Director, St. Mary Land & Exploration Company, Ian Laperriere, Alternate Captain, Colorado Avalanche, and Mike Shaw, Founder and Owner Mike Shaw Automotive, four outstanding fathers in the Colorado community. The black tie optional event begins at 6 p.m. with a reception, and dinner will follow at 7 p.m.
“We are proud to honor these four exceptional fathers who have demonstrated the ability to balance their personal lives, while achieving a high-level of success in their careers.” said Perri Dombroski, Associate Director at the American Diabetes Association. “All of these fathers are very deserving of this award”.
