Default A change is as good as a rest

There was none of the thunder that greeted the players at Monday's morning skate, but Tuesday's get-together brought in a blizzard of changes, nonetheless. So much so, in fact, that the Bourque-Langkow-Dawes line was the only one left untouched.

Eric Nystrom, who only practised for about 20 minutes before heading to the dressing room, along with Daymond Langkow (both are expected to play Wednesday), found himself on the first line with the reunited duo of Jarome Iginla and Olli Jokinen.

For the record, here's how the lines shaped up (courtesy of the Herald's John Down, from the Saddledome):

Nystrom-Jokinen-Iginla

Bourque-Langkow-Dawes

Glencross-Boyd-Moss

Sjostrom-Conroy-Prust

McGrattan

On the blueline, Adam Pardy was back alongside Mark Giordano and looks like he might be the next one in line to step off the carousel and into the sixth defenceman spot, leaving Aaron Johnson and Staffan Kronwall out in the cold. The other pairings of Robyn Regehr-Dion Phaneuf and Cory Sarich-Jay Bouwmeester remained in place.

"We felt we wanted to change up a little bit," said coach Brent Sutter, before cautioning the media against reading too much into the new-look lines. "It could change again tomorrow."
