Update from the morning skate in Nashville: Defenseman Brad Stuart is out for the rest of the regular season, and possibly the start of the playoffs, with a non-displaced fracture in one of his fingers, general manager Ken Holland said. It happened during the third period of Wednesday's game when he blocked a shot. They're not revealing which finger or which hand.
Holland said doctors told him Stuart would be out three-to-six weeks. The team believes it'll be closer to three weeks. He'll resume skating by the middle of next week. Coach Mike Babcock said Chris Chelios will take Stuart's spot on the second pairing with Niklas Kronwall, at least initially, while Andreas Lilja is paired with Brett Lebda.
