I had Pat Moore at TSC contour my old Bauer Classic Silvers (11' radius, +1mm pitch) back in 2004. I was very happy with the result (even though he said it didn't take that long, still took a week to get around to doing it). I don't see Pat buzzing around TSC anymore. Does he even work in the pro shop anymore? Craig ______ (can't remember the last name; looked like Artie Lange of the Howard Stern show) was another guy I'd have trusted with contouring my skates, but he's also AWOL.
If I had to do it today, I'd drive down to old reliable: Hawk Hockey in Santa Ana. I KNOW I'm getting grade-A results there, without having to worry about which individual persons are laying their hands on the machine. If you call ahead and arrange a day and time, they can do it while you're on the premises without you having to make 2 trips.
Yes, you can skate in them that night. It's only the baking process (for brand new skates) that requires you to let them sit for 24-48 hours before use.
