I go through a new helmet practically every season. I've used CCM and Bauer helmets, but the biggest problem I am having is finding one that is wide enough. Apparently

I go through a new helmet practically every season. I've used CCM and Bauer helmets, but the biggest problem I am having is finding one that is wide enough. Apparently my cranium is over-sized.

Anyone else have this problem? If so, which helmet manufacturer would you recommend?

Has anyone used the new Cascade ice hockey helmets?

I have a Bauer 8000 that is like the pro stock model and I too have a fairly large dome. Fits me fine, but I got the largest model they have. I also have a CCM 1052 which at times can be large on my head and move around, but I guess that is the style for those (not moving around in an unsafe way either)

doesn't answer your question but my helmet of choice is one without a visor, god i hate them so much

Off the top of my head I believe I use a bauer 5500 with a oakley half shield.

I'm a member of the over-sized cranium club, too. Always have trouble finding hats that fit, and helmets that are big enough, especially in the width - most of them seem to just go longer in the larger sizes. Then I picked up a Rbk 8k. The dial adjustment is specifically for the width, and it works great. My size L can go way longer and wider than I'd ever need. I recommend it highly for the melon-heads out there.

CCM 492 with a full cage.

I have a huge head as well. The Large used to fit me great, but then I took a real bad hit to the front of the cage, and now it's a little tight. Kind of says something about the amount of protection you get, I guess.

I think Ive got a Bauer 1000 now. whatever the helmet lindros wore his entire career is.

Before that, CCM 652.

I'd like to get another of those. timeless classic.

Itech 1000....also, no cage and yes I have taken a stick to the face. Had a large amount of stiches on face and inside of mouth. Thank GOD for my mouthpiece. I AlWAYS wear my mouthpiece. I also know the consequences of not wearing a shield or cage. So far I have been lucky, i am sure but that is the way i like it.
