As a spinoff from our weekly pickup game at the Rose Bowl and lack of sunlight, we now have our weekly games at the West Covina roller hockey rinks at Orangewood Park. All skill levels are invited. All we ask is that you bring a fun attitude and cash for rink time. Cost is anywhere from $5 to $10 per skater, depending on how many people show up. We are averging 15 skaters every week right now. Goalies play free, of course. We usually reserve 1 or 2 hour time slots depending on what's available that week. I'll post up when the game is on a given week.
We play on sport court, so bring indoor wheels. Required gear is: Helmet, eye protection, gloves, and shin guards.
Location: 1601 W Merced Ave., West Covina, CA

Yes. Sunday morning pickup is played in Chino Hills at Grand Ave. Park. There are 2 outdoors rinks, really nice. The surface isn't sport court, so outdoor wheels are the way to go for your skates. It's free on Sunday mornings. The game usually starts at 8am. I usually show up around 8:30am, and we play until 11am or so. There's always a good turnout there, usually 20 people every week!

Last night we didn't have any goalies, but we generally get 2 out there every week. We have the rink for 2 hours, so even if we have 1 or 2 extra goalies, you guys can switch off so you don't get too tired. When there's no goalies, we just play posts. We had 17 skaters out there last night.

So is it just a show and play? I sure would hate to show up on a wednesday night and theres 5 goalies there... How many usually show? I'll have to get an ady to the chino hills park to get my hot tight as there on Sunday morning. I been playing ice pickup every Sunday morning but sure am missing playing roller lately...

Usually only 1 or 2 goalies show. Sometimes none. We actually have an email we send out every week and people reply if they're coming. We get a pretty good idea of who's coming and if goalies are showing up. We've never had a case of 5 goalies showing up, so I wouldn't worry. If you want to get on that email list, PM me with your email and we can communicate, and you can email me to find out if we need a goalie that week. Most skaters just show up. There's plenty of playing time for everyone.
Oh! And our next game is Wednesday, December 5th, 8:30pm to 10:30pm.
