Okay first off i know this is on the wrong message board but please just leave this up for the next 2 hours as this is the most popular forum. There is pick up hockey tonight at 10:30 tonight at culver ice arena. There is an 75 year old man named bernie that has been doing to for like 20 years but lately the turnout has been lacking so anyone interested in playing pick up tonight or any other sunday night come on out. Price is $15.
i had no idea they played on sunday nights? I used to rock the 11am during the week but can't with class schedules now. We should see if they'll give us an LGK discount! ya 15 bucks does hurt for some of us. Have a midterm tomorrow but I'll plan on being there next week.
Is this a private pickup or open to the public? The CC website only lists a 9am-11am Sunday morning public pickup.

So I went to the pickup last night and it was pretty dead; about 7 skaters total (including goalie). Low turnout may be due to adult hockey league try outs at Toyota Center, but from what I hear, last week's turnout was low too (about 6 skaters on each side).
Anyhow, Bernie (guy who's been running the private pickup for 30 years) is a very cool guy. Hope more can show up.

This is a nice little pickup session. As mentioned, the guy Bernie who runs the show is a super kind older gentlemen who is very welcoming. it's 15 bucks and starts at 10:45 sunday nights, open to anyone.
when I went there were about 8 players per team and goalies for each side. There are a few guys who were pretty gongshow out there just cherry picking at the blue line and never getting off the ice but for the most part everyone is quite nice. Seems like quite a range of players in terms of skill, as long as you're a decent skater you'd be fine.
As for age, there was a kid who was about 10 years old there, so I don't think there is an age requirement but I also believe he was there with his dad, so I don't know if that mattered. However the guy Bernie is real nice so I'm not sure he'd care.
