The game will most likely be on a Saturday night, which so far from the feedback seems ok with everyone.
I am NOT interested in rotating goalies. I totally understand your predicament, and if I was you, I would probably be doing the same thing... but I don't really feel like driving all the way to Ontario to split time. If we go two goalies, I am in. If we go three, it really isn't worth it to me to drive out there after working some really long hours. I know this is making me sound like a jackass, but it just isn't worth it to me. Sorry.

not having a goalie ruins it for everyone involved. if a skater doesn't show up, the game can go on. but if the goalie doesn't show up, the game is ruined and everyone who paid to play gets screwed out of a good game. it sucks to split time but i don't really see of any other options. we're paying to play a pickup GAME. not for some stick time and shooting practice. i'm just really sick of shooting on a cutout when i could've been out doing something more productive instead.

I totally understand. If we can get two goalies that actually show up and play then I am all for no rotating. The problem we have had is last game only one goalie showed up so the other team was left to shoot on the shooter tutor. The game before that the second goalie we had hadn't played in forever and sat out after 15 minutes, once again leaving us with shooting on the shooter tutor, or for a while it was just Tonga hanging back and blocking shots. We are all just a little weary of it happening again which is why a third goalie is being suggested. If we get two dedicated goalies to show up then no problem, but a back up plan is all that is being suggested.
Also the games have been played in Lakewood, not Ontario. Lakewood is where I was planning on setting it up again unless people want it moved, but I haven't heard any suggestions of moving it.
Remember folks this LGK Pick up is not just about playing a hockey pick up!
10 Reasons to show up.
1) Chat with Coach Mitchrock
2) Get to know the people behind the Avatar
3) Partaking in the art of Drinking Beer with friends
4) Play hockey
5) On the bench hooliganism
6) Chat with Coach Mithrock
7) Possible Rinkrat siteing? Hey he showed up at least once or twice.
8) Possible get together after the pick up game
9) Pester the non-king fans who are playing (If one shows up)
10) Partaking in the art of Drinking Beer with friends
Some of the best times at these LGK games are the bench talk.
Seriously, 3 goalies is not that bad. Split it down into 15 minute rotations. A full interval on the ice will be 30 minutes (2x15 minute each rink end) for every 15 minutes sitting on the bench.
Heck, talking to Coach is sometimes worth missing a shift.

Look if we have two goalies we know are FULLY COMMITTED and will NOT flake and will write down and remember the date, then three is probably unnecessary provided I bring my gear.

Although I am quoting Yipp, I am really responding to all the other commets in general. Yipp was just the first comment listed.
First of all, I know the situation with the goalies in the past. I tried to get into the first game, but it was filled.. then the goalie pooped out. I got into the next game, when it was me and Mike, and everyone had a blast. I know both Mike and myself were ready to go longer if needed, but we were kicked off. I had a prior committment during the last game, so I couldn't show. I don't know what happened to Mike... he is usually pretty reliable. I've been playing with him for years, and this is the first time I remember him not showing. Everyone is entitled to one mulligan. Anyway, I am very aware of the current situation and why all the skaters want three goalies.
However, just like you guys don't like showing up and having to shoot on a tutor, I don't particularly like showing up and having to sit on the bench. Like you guys, I show up expecting to play a game, not sit for 15-30 minutes at a time, or skate in circles to stay warm. This isn't anything against any other goalie, or any other skater. If I'm gonna drive to play hockey, I want to play hockey, not sit and watch. Unless they are just getting back into hockey, I am sure that every goalie on this board feels the same.
Anyway, all of this is just discussion for now, because until the date is set in stone, there is no way for us to know which goalies can make the game anyway. I'm just voicing my opinion on a subject. We had this very same discussion just before the game where Mike and myself played in net. I am sure no one's opinion has really changed, but hopefully we can better understand where the other side stands.
So here are some possible dates I am looking at for booking the ice. These are all Saturdays. Let me know which ones will work and I'll book the most convenient for everyone.
