nice phone but personally I refuse to switch to Verizon. I'll stick with my current provider until Verizon allows me to put my own content on my phone. If it's MY phone I don't want some douchebag provider limiting what I can do with it.
thats the only real problem i have with the xbox 360...you cant mod it and get on xbox live...Microsoft will zap it so that unit cant ever get on live again....its my xbox...why cant i mod it
damn...imagine loading it up with music and then losing the device. Talk about getting double ****ed.
My provider is T-Mobile. They let you do anything with your phone and they are rolling out phones that will allow you to make WiFi calls. Once that is available on a wider variety of phones I think T-Mobile is going to start kicking Verizon ass.
well, when you load music you should have a copy on your hard drive. if you lose it, you just reload it on your new phone.
wifi is nice, but it still doesn't improve reception when you leave the house. it won't kick verizon's ass. maybe at&t... but they won't touch verizon. and if it goes well, every other provider will implement the same thing.

You can't get a Verizon phone to connect to your pc. You download music through Vcast and not from your pc. Lose the phone, lose the music and you are screwed.
I wasn't impressed with the UI. A better iPhone killer is either the HTC Touch or Tilt. Not only that, but verizon's UI bogs it down with all of that vCrap.
Verizon has great reception, but its service is overpriced and it has a horrible phone selection. No thanks!

Well, there's your first problem. Don't buy music through Vcast. Chances are you already own the music that you want to have on your phone. If so, take the microSD card out of your phone, put it into your computer or card reader and drag whatever files (i.e. music, pictures, videos, ringtones that you've made) onto your microSD and you're all set.
You do have to make sure that you put the files in the right spot on your card but that's easy enough if your halfway computer savvy...

not true... all VZW VCast music phones have cables that come with them that connect them to your computer. You can do as the other poster said and take the memory card, and plug it into your computer, or plug your phone in directly, and load your own, unprotected music into the phone via their Verizon Music program thingie...
I have my phone loaded with 2gb of stuff off my PC, none of it paid for through Verizon.
nice phone but personally I refuse to switch to Verizon. I'll stick with my current provider until Verizon allows me to put my own content on my phone. If it's MY phone I don't want some douchebag provider limiting what I can do with it.
yeah, especially with the ugly interface they make their phone providers add to the phone! YUCK!

if it allows me to drag and drop like that would it allow me to do the same with home made ringtones and wallpapers?
***edit : just saw another post that pretty much answers this. Damn. I just resigned with T-Mobile for 2 years because I lost my phone two weeks ago. I contemplated switching to Verizon but their service is just too expensive. Oh well, on the bright side I love my Blackberry Pearl. I'll be good with it until they come out with a Pearl that has WiFi calling. My only complaint with T-Mobile is that the reception sucks inside my house. With WiFi that will no longer be a problem for me.

It sure would. You just have to make sure that the ringtones are the right size and format. Once the wallpaper(picture) is on your phone, you can choose that picture and set it as your wallpaper.

Hmm unlock for Sprint? Oh well my Centro does everything I want and it only cost me $99 with a $100 mail in rebate. If you know how to scream at Sprint right they'll give you anything you want.
