Any of you who had the Blu-ray freezing issue (I'm talking to you, Unfiltered!), did the upgrade to 1.60 solve your problem? For me, it was a solution. I'm able to watch anything without a problem, and I notice that when I return to the menu after a disc the PS3 re-logs me back into my Playstation account.
I haven't been able to update as I don;t currently have a wired internet connection.
Once I get it, I'll use the ethernet wireless bridge, and test it out, though I can't say I've ever had a problem with my blu-ray. Of course... I've only watched 15 minutes of Talladega Nights (terrible movie).

Wow. I've never been called out before.
Since the update, my PS3 has been rock solid, though I only had few freeze ups. Prior to the update, I was manually disconnecting my wireless connection prior to watching a movie, so I don't know if my machine is relogging me in. I'll check that out when I get home.
Recent and "older" Blu-ray releases, specifically Casino Royale, Happy Feet, Swordfish, Corpse Bride, have played perfectly fine since the 1.60 update. Corpse Bride was one of the titles that gave me a minor problem before.

Yeah, the problem was fixed on my system too. I've had no freezing at all. Last night I watched 3 movies in a row on the PS3 and it didn't freeze once.

it happened to me twice, but i turned off the wi-fi connection and it hasn't happened again. i haven't downloaded the new update, though. if the update doesn't work, try turning off the wi-fi.

You don't need a wired connection.
Just go online on your PC and download the update via the PlayStation site, and use a flash drive or some form of external memory to transfer it to your PS3.
