Is there someone or a company or SOMETHING that can help me get my home computer back running normal? With two kids and a wife and full time jobs between us and my wife in college getting her 2nd Masters, I need someone to come to my house to fix it or whatever. I just don't have the time to take it anywhere.
Also go to download.com and get ccleaner. It cleans up a lot of junk. Also doesn't hurt if you have windows defender on your PC. What kind of Virus Protection do you have??? If you don't have AVG, try it. I like it a lot better than Norton or Mcafee.

The only thing I hate about AVG is that you can't control when it scans. It just scans every time you boot up, and you can't schedule anything.
What would you recommend for the best free firewall out there??? I just gave up on Zone Alarm as it was causing problems... BTW...I'm still holding on to Win2000...

Buy a broadband router (if you don't already have one) and use that as your firewall.

Free? Sorry, you get what you pay for. I use Norton 360 and I get a 100% clean bill of health from Gibson Research:
PS -- don't try McAfee's 10-in-1 protection suite with a PC running MS Windows Vista O/S ..... it'll crash on installation and cause your PC to go into an endless reboot cycle.
