Alright, everyone! Here’s the theme for LGK Photography Challenge #3. PuckMonkey made his choice for the photographer who best illustrated the theme of Challenge #2 in his photographs, and his choice was FlyBoeingJets (hereafter refered to as "me")! "Me" gets the opportunity to choose the next Challenge theme! And here it is, as chosen by our good friend, "Me"!
X (Without "X")
"Me" sez: "Your images must contain visual elements that have crossing-lines, forming an "X" or "cross" within the image. However, you MAY NOT USE THE LETTER "X" WITHIN THE IMAGE!"
Pictures submitted to this thread should all reflect something to do with the theme. Of course, individual interpretation of the Challenge’s theme is what will make the photographs unique but please, explain the artistic intent of the image if it isn’t obvious! YOUR LGK PEERS ARE YOUR CRITICS, so don’t try pullin’ a fast one!! Please remember critiques are not personal attacks, take them with a grain of salt and apply it towards your art!
PLEASE FOLLOW THE RULES OF THE LGK PHOTO CHALLENGE THREADS, which can be found by clicking the link below.
This thread will be heavily moderated (by adhering to the rules) to maintain an easy format. Following the rules will help me keep this thread from straying from its original intent, so "Thank You!" in advance!
This Challenge will be in the NEW THREE-WEEK FORMAT!! It will end at NOON on Saturday, March 8, 2008! You have THREE WEEKS to get your best images into your photo post! REMEMBER, you don’t have to put them all up at once, but you have to have at least one image in your image post to openly critique or applaud others!
Start carrying your cameras with you, everyone! I can’t wait to see what we all come up with!
Please PM me with any questions or concerns!
LET'S GET IT ON!!

This is an example of what the theme is about. I took it several weeks ago, so it isn't really by the rules of the Challenge (must be pics shot for the challenge blah blah etc etc), but I thought it might help people visualize the theme better.

Alright. Here's the real poop. First image taken for this Challenge.
Once And For All, Now
I'm Going To Air Her Dirty
Laundry. Here it is. 50mm lens, 1/1250th at f/3.2. Mad haiku skillz.
Extooling The Beauty Of... 50mm lens. Extension Tubes (36mm and 20mm). Off-camera flash.
Brass gunsmithing mallet. Mad wordplay skillz.
Flash Difuxxer This is a picture of the flip-down diffuser on my SB-800 Speedlight AS IT IS FIRING.
Manual exposure, 1/1250th at f/16, with the flash output dialed down manually to 1/128 power.
50mm lens. Extension Tubes (full stack of 68mm), Off-camera flash.
Gin, No Tonix Empty Bombay Sapphire bottle. Water.
Blue food coloring (the blue of the bottle wasn't "blue" enough for me).
Off-camera flash (placed directly against the back left side of the bottle).
Mirror.
Inxtruments 50mm f/1.4 lens. Jet Fuel. Boeing 737-300.
Buckley Air Force Base Taken from 5,000 feet above ground. Near Denver, CO.
Can You See It? South of San Diego, CA.
The East-West cloud front over the North-South running shoreline.
There's an eddy in the cloud layer that shows you where the shoreline is beneath it.
Stop!! Ramp agent gives the stop signal as we pull into the gate in Phoenix.
This is taken through the front window of the jet
(which is 2" thick layered glass) and is a pretty tight crop
of the original image, so that's why there's some
apparent mirroring and abberation.
