Hey all, I am a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy and I will be deploying here very soon and will miss almost the entire Hockey season. While deployed i will have a consistent high speed internet connection. I was wondering if anyone knows of anyway to either watch or D/L the kings games off of the internet and what i would need to do or sign up for to get that. ANY help would be appreciated.
P.S. I KNOW they will have a great season this year, since i have bad luck and will miss it ALL...LOL
Here’s some info about getting the NHL on the Internet.
First off you can get highlights and interviews on Yahoo/Sports/NHL. FoxSports, ESPN, CBC.ca and TSN.ca, Sportsnet.ca ect…
All have recently improved dramatically. When in the US all you have to do is click and watch, no more downloading or anything. Even w/ a Mac on OSX.
You can even watch live games on Yahoo. I've watched a Kings games w/ out any problems. If you have the proper connections you can even hook up your computer to a big screen.
There are a few things you need to do. If it’s a home team game (Kings and Ducks) you will need to change your home address to an out of town one in your Yahoo ID to enable the feed. If you are out of country it gets tricky but there are a few things you can do.
For Yahoo and the other feeds you may need to change your proxy to a US feed to get the stream, this changes daily so check before each game.
Setup a Sling Box, a Tivo, and cable receiver at home and its like you never left the States.
Good luck and stay safe!

Thanks SIRJW. Getting highlights wont be a problem. I just was really wanting to be able to watch an entire KINGS game (SEASON!) somehow on the WEB while gone. I will be out of country for at least 6 months so hopefully some of those links will work for me. THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!!!!!!!

Sling Box is way cool but you may have issues overseas, so keep that proxy list, hopefully that will circumvent the issue (if there is one). Also note that if the TiVo is in use by someone else at the physical location the SB user can't control it. In other words one user at a time.

If you're going on the Tarawa, Bon Homme Richard or the Stennis, i've been on them :-)
Unfortunatly this time i will be on land not on a ship. But I am currently at Afloat Training Group in San Diego and have ridden those 3 ships quite a few times. You got a friend or family member in the NAVY, 33?
