About This Page: This is a discussion on Computers/Tech/Photo within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. YA I CANT WAIT!!! MY PC specs.
-Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium
-Intel core 2 quad-core 8mb L2 cache, 2.4 ghz.
-3 gig of ram
-768mb nVidia Geforce 8800 GTX
The only problem Vista really has is performance with games.
Take for instance an older FPS called Planetside. With my older computer i was getting max 60 FPS when i was by myself, several hundered people and my FPS dropped to around 10. With my new comp i can putt roughly 650 FPS by myself and still over 200 with alot of people.
Now my buddy has roughly the same system i have except maybe a different case and motherboard. Same CPU, same ammount of RAM, same graphics card except the maker, i have onboard sound cus i'm too lazy to install my soundcard, he has a Creative Labs card and he uses Vista.
The difference in game performance is staggering as his max FPS was roughly 150.
Yes he has DX10 and i have 9 but my games run better on XP pro then his on Vista.
So if your a gamer avoid Vista for about a year and stick with XP pro.
