So I had my laptop stolen last week, but luckily had all my music on my Ipod. Now, I know how to sync your Itunes to the Ipod, but how do you sync the Ipod to Itunes?
I have looked through tutorials and they just have you double click on the Ipod icon on the desktop when you connect it to your computer and then drag the music folder onto your itunes. However, when i plug my ipod in and open it, there is no music folder or anything that contains my music.
So what can i do? Obviously NONE of my music was bought through the itunes store so I assume they have made the information a little harder to come by.
Your screwed. My wife had this happen also. And we had to download everything again. But this time we did it the right way ...Lime Wire Official Website & Free Download, BitTorrent . Once a Ipod tries to sync with a new library it askes you if you want to sync it with the new library, if you say yes, then it erases everything. But if you say no, then it won't sync at all.
Not unless someone knows of a hidden software out there!

Yeah, I thought i was screwed too, but there was a tutorial about it in Itunes. I follow the steps, but what happens in the tutorial doesnt happen on my computer so...there has to be a way
This seems like its going to work great, but I'm still having trouble.
The problem is changing the settings in my Itunes to allow for disk use...
I used these instructions, but when Click on my Ipod within Itunes there is no settings tab...argh...I'm so close to success but have run into another road block
Quote:
n order to use Senuti with an iPod, disk use must be enabled, and manual management of songs should also be enabled. If disk use is not enabled, follow these instructions to enable it:
If connected, disconnect your iPod
Launch iTunes
Press and hold the Command and Option keys*
Plug in your iPod with the keys still pressed
When your iPod appears in the source list of iTunes, you can release the keys
Within iTunes click on your iPod Choose the settings tab to alter the settings of your iPod
Enable Disk Use
Enable Manually manage music and videos**
Press Apply

As for software, I would suggest using Senuti. Pull the music off the ipod and add it into the music library once its on the computer, and resync the ipod.
Good luck!

I'm trying to use Senuti right now, but i cant set my itunes for disk use and cant see my music on the computer when i open the ipod icon.
At this point its just a settings thing, im not looking to get LGK in trouble, I just need some basic mac help cause im very new to macs.
iPod Access isn't free, but it is by far the best. Its integration into iTunes is great, so you don't have to futz around with any of the iTunes settings, and their support for when things don't go right is stellar.
(and in keeping with Creeping Death's request, it doesn't break any DRM stuff)
