BTW, my friend has one and at first I didn't like it, but now I'm very anxious to see what the 2nd gens will be like...

Probably do what just about everyone else does when better telecommunications equipment comes out. Do some research and if its worth it, buy it.

Of course, but shelling out 400-500 bucks for a phone that will barely make it a year is a tough pill to swallow...

Please, people will have no problem doing so. If the 2nd gen iPhone is something that I think is worth the investment I will glady buy a new one and sell my 1st gen iPhone on ebay.

deep... I usually do atleast 3 months of research before any investment over 200 bucks...

The iPhone is no different from any other technology product. By the time it hits market, its replacement is already being tested. I feel sorry for anyone that thought otherwise.

Here's hoping they add a decent camera and slim it down a bit. I'm concerned how at&t handles the contract extension when this phone comes out. I'm safely assuming that those greedy bastards will contractually add another two years.

Word is that apple is having a hard time finding a lasting battery to work on the upcoming 3G network while making it slim enough to fit on the already designed phone. Most people are guessing it will be announced in the summer for a fall release...
