Doing an update on my DVD player which uses as Image ISO file burnt onto a disc. I have no clue what software that takes or even what an Image ISO file even entails.
Any info on this and potential tips?

Doing an update on my DVD player which uses as Image ISO file burnt onto a disc. I have no clue what software that takes or even what an Image ISO file even entails.
Its the Oppo970. Has always worked great but for some reason stopped playing CDs. The techs at Oppo said to install the update and it if thay didnt work theyd repair it for free.

That's cool . . . I know a few people that have Oppos and MAN do they love them. I've never owned one, but I've never heard a bad story about them.

We you able to get the firmware updated okay?
D'oh-I downloaded the software for ISO burning but had issues actually getting it to burn sadly so I dont have the ISO files to upgrade. Making the matter ever more frustrating was I have a copy of NERO for my video camera that I uploaded only to find the installation disc entirely in Japanese. I suppose I could have had the wife translate for me but at that point i was throwing my hands up in the air. Ill probably just see if I can have someone at work do it or try again this weekend.
And yeah I love my player-it does 1080 DVD up conversion but I mainly use it for the DVDA and SACD properties.
Losesomemore-I just got the Lightbulb Sun DVD. Great stuff. The extended cut of muying new soul in 5.1 is a masterpiece. Almost reminds me a bit of Zeps No Quarter.

I'm trying to understand your issue. You have issues with your dvd player and are trying to upgrade the firmware to resolve these issues? The firmware was sent to you in an ISO file but you can not get to those files because you can not burn to your disc.
You can try downloading a virtual disc drive, load the ISO file onto the virtual disc drive and running the upgrade from there.
These are the only two programs you need if you already have a video file to work with. These two programs are responsible for me being able to watch seasons 1 - 4 of Lost in about 45 days.
