Well, good news according to Bill Hunt. It seems that going forward, Dolby THD is going to be standard on all future releases - save for the titles that were already remastered before.
Blades of Glory (which is now streeting on 5/20 as well, so they found them!) will have uncompressed PCM, but Face/Off does not have any next-gen codecs as expected.
Now word travelling the internets is that Universal has "heard the calls" from audiophiles around the world, and their upcoming slate of discs will include DTS-HD MA audio tracks - even on titles previously released on HD DVD - and on BD 50s, too. This is a VERY good sign.

You're a big whore. One of the biggest. And since we both work in Burbank, you can only make up for it by letting me come by and visit your shop.
You don't to come to NBC. (Unless you have a man crush on Carson Daly.)
I prefer slut
Stop by anytime. We work across the street from one another. Though, I gotta admit, there isn't much to look at as a visitor (damn security). The only parts you could see are the halls and offices.

And The Man Who Fell To Earth. I'm kind of surprised they didn't go with a couple of their other staples:
I'm wondering if Criterion will have to re-new liscensing for these on BD. Many of the titles they have produced were leased from other companies. I don't think these were permanent, so I'm assuming they'll have to go back and renegotiate for some of them. Fear and Loathing already has a release from Universal on HD DVD, so it's possible that we'll see a BD version prior to a Criterion release.
Brazil and Dazed and Confused are also Universal titles. I don't know who has the Kurasawa films rights.
