WTF! no cloverfield!?
Nasti may know something. That guy is always holding out on info in fear of losing his job. Pfft! Pussy.

All I wanted in life this month was AvP:Requiem, a naked 23 year old bikini model sprawled across my bed, and Cloverfield.
Now, if Jesus really loved me, he would have given me all three, but no...he left out Cloverfield. It is really quiet retarded that they are still making SD movies that SHOULD be BD, Juno for example should be a SD movie, who the **** cares about a snobby ass bitch that gets herself preggo before she can even vote. On top of that, she gets infected by 2007's version of screech. That is EXACTLY what HD is all about...
/rant
I guess I shouldn't really care, it was a good movie with a ****ty ending anyway...but I did hear they are putting in an alternate...?

No no. I just like to sound important by telling everyone I have top secret information and not giving it out.
Seriously though, the HD DVD version was being worked on initially but since Toshiba's departure from the war it's priority got pushed back like with everything else. I can tell you that it's not finished being worked on but when it'll be released is anyone's guess. There were a lot of extras at first (even more than what's on the SD version, like a lot more viral style back story, a game, etc.) however, that could all be scrapped. There was also an internet leak that occurred which caused a major tiff. Still very hush hush.

I don't know - something tells me that Cloverfield isn't going to quite scream "HD Demo Disc" under the sheer restrictions on how it was filmed. It could surprise, but I certainly wouldn't expect great things from a movie that was intended from the beginning to be camcorder footage.

I wasn't anticipating it for demo purposes at all. I was looking forward to the extras, specifically the BTS, since they were all shot in HD, as well as the effects breakdowns.

Agreed. Besides, the film was shot using 3 different HD cameras, two of them being the Panasonic AG-HVX200 and the new Sony F23, so it should look pretty good without having to transfer it from filmstock.

I'm looking to the effects breakdown mostly to see how much motion blur and "dumming down" the HD to make it look like SD. Plus I want to see the original FX plates.

Same here!

Paramount finally announces it's reentry into Blu-Ray starting in just 3 weeks on May 20. Cloverfield and There Will Be Blood will be out on Blu-Ray on 6/3. Took them long enough to announce, but at least it's not a long wait for the titles, especially the two on 6/3.

I've been hearing about a new Godfather set coming out later this year from Paramount, perhaps it is going to be coming out in Blu-ray also. I waited the format war out until there was a clear winner, but now I guess it's time to convert to Blu-ray.

I can tell you for a fact that it will come out in the not too distant future.

Godfather?!? Are you kidding me?!? Never!
Right, Nasti?!? Not a chance in Hell, right?
BTW, I'm still kind of scratching my head about them not announcing Blades of Glory, as it's sitting in a warehouse somewhere. I don't think I need it in HD. (I'm not so sure I even want to keep the DVD version I DO have. ) I just find it unusual.
