Has anyone upgraded to AVG 8.0?

I just upgraded. Rebooted in safe mode. Uninstalled 7.5. Restarted. Installed 8.0.100 and it's scanning the system right now.

How can I tell if it's scanning my incoming email from my gmail account? Will it even work with web-based email?

It bogged down my higher end Vista machine down pretty bad at first in general, but then I found some command lines for the installer to strip out a lot of the fat from the program. That helped a lot.

The only problem now is that after 6 hours of scanning every morning it doesn't complete a system scan. I have no idea how long it actually takes to finish as I keep having to cancel it so I can work.

The XP machine is older and AVG is a disaster on there. Have to shut it down to do almost anything in reasonable time.

Im on that "old" system with the AVG 8.01. no problems except I had to turn off the links scan option. that one sucked. web pages took forever to load, prompting me to think I had gone back to dial-up.
