Microsoft, in an effort to sway the wide spread negative
Microsoft, in an effort to sway the wide spread negative perception of Vista started their 'Mojave' campaign, where they sit Vista haters down to show them a new operating system they are working to get the users feedback. Some 90% gave the new operating system a thumbs up, only then to be told in classic Pizza / Pasta Hut fashion, "Mojave is actually Vista".
So they tweaked the GUI and made the DRM-heavy anti-consumer anti-developer horrible disgrace that is Vista look good on an overhead projector to impress some people?
Congrats, MS. You'll have to pry XP from my cold dead hands.

Never before had I had a POS like this that slows down drastically every time I edit a file...or has Alzheimers when you want to add or delete a program or simple file (by asking permission while forgetting that you're the ONLY administrator)... I thought that 4GB of memory would be enough to get around this problem... I thought wrong...
Also the other troubles in getting the POS on a strictly bare bones system being forced to pay a tech $45 to install the MFer...

Go to the Apple Store and buy a MAC. I did and cannot wait to get mine in the mail. If you want a laptop that is configured with XP go to Notebook Shop where I got my wife a nice Fujitsu laptop configured with XP (notebookshop.com)
Vista sux ass. I get host process errors, I get programs shut down unexpectedly, I get blue screen crashes, memory management errors. It's a ****ling disaster. Can't figure anything out to fix it.
I have Vista and at home and don't understand the hate. It is a superior program than XP IMO
Then you have just been lucky so far. The constant nagging you for permission, or it forgetting that you gave your permission already. I see network problems on a weekly basis on different computers. Yes, some are user related, but many are driver problems.
You can always run a Windows 2008 Server Workstation. Do a search for Windows 2008 Workstation in Google, and you can download a free eval version of Windows 2008 Server that lasts 240 days. It runs faster then Vista. I have been using it for a week at home, and it works great.
