About This Page: This is a discussion on Computers/Tech/Photo within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Are any of you having 771/Pixelation issues with a handful of HD stations? Versus, TBSHD, NickHD are few that come to mind. NHL Network is another one.
I'm force downloading

I'm force downloading the software update from a few weeks ago, as some folks recommended that on DBSTalk. But none of those guys are from LA.
Anyone?

Some folks that are having similar issues are being told it's dish alignment issue. While we had a little wind over the weekend, I have a hard time believing that is the cause. It's some kind of transponder/sat issue as a majority of the HD channels are fine. It's just a grouping of them that sucks a cow's 3rd utter.
New to DirecTV and one of my concerns was wind but I was assured by other Sat users it wont be an issue, four months later and plenty of wind storms later no problems so far.

The problem seems very recent. It makes me wonder about the last software update and the effects it's having on my receiver. I didn't have much of an issue prior to the past couple of weeks.
Both of the tuners on my HR-20/700 are at 75-76%, which I'm not so hot about. (They're just as poor on the DVR-less H20, which received a software update on 2/6.)
Now most that were having an issue, seem to be fine now.
Once Terminator is done recording, I'm going to pull the BBC and see if it's bad. (Which would be really weird since it's happening on both tuners, AND the (totally separate) H20.)
The two lines off the dish are from different runs: one from myself and one from the installer, so I'm writing off the idea of a bad cable.
Someone on DBSTalk also suggested it could be a bad LNB. :(
Regardless of what the BBC tests yield, DTV is getting a call tomorrow.
