I'm goin with Dave on this one. John has some 'cool' going for him no doubt. But Dave has more talent in his pinky finger than all of X combined. I saw X back in '87 at the Ritz. And frankly, they sucked. Foo Fighters, otoh, sounded great in-studio on Howard. And he played drums for Nirvana- the most underrated overrated group ever.

John Doe is definitely cooler than Grohl, and I'd even bet Grohl would agree with that.
Although I gotta say, it's harder to be cooler than Lee Marvin.
